HonestPicks is an independent consumer-research publication. We test, compare, and rank products across categories like home energy, tech, beauty, health, kitchen, audio, fitness, and lifestyle so readers can make confident purchase decisions without wading through marketing noise.

Our mission

Our mission is simple: cut through inflated manufacturer claims and surface the products that actually deliver value for everyday people. Every guide we publish is written for the reader first — not the brand, not the retailer, and not the highest bidder.

How we test products

Our editorial team combines hands-on testing, structured benchmarking, and aggregated user feedback. For each ranked guide we typically:

• Shortlist candidates based on specifications, brand reputation, and verified buyer feedback.
• Purchase units at retail (we do not accept free samples in exchange for favorable coverage).
• Run side-by-side performance tests in real-world conditions.
• Score each product against transparent criteria: performance, build quality, value, ease of use, and customer support.
• Re-evaluate rankings whenever a manufacturer ships a meaningful update or a better competitor appears.

Editorial independence

Brands cannot pay to appear in our rankings, change a score, or remove a negative finding. Affiliate partnerships (see our Advertising Disclosure) help fund our research but never influence editorial conclusions. If a previously recommended product no longer meets our standards, we update or remove it.

Our team

HonestPicks is run by a small international team of writers, testers, and editors with backgrounds in consumer electronics, energy efficiency, health and wellness, and product design. Bylined contributors are listed on the articles they write.
